Spax springs are just some ones I had sitting around and added to the sale. They used to be on the YROG until a couple years ago. I had a full set, but the rear lowered the car more than the front and didn't look right, so I ditched the rears. Forget what I was running after that...I think cut wagon springs. The Spax springs only lowered my car maybe an inch.

Thanks for the info, never even heard of these before. I think I'll wait for a full set of iPd springs someday, or do nothing.

I took the Smurf's head apart yesterday and compared it to another "performance" head of similar spec (stock valves etc - just ported) and I'm proud to say that my ports appear to work better. I'll post picks in my own thread later. Anyone looking for a ported B20 head can contact me about the Smurf's head.

Time for an update. I injured my back snowboarding, so progress has been slower than I would have liked. But I've got the interior stripped, bumpers off, hood off, all lights off, ignition system out, and the engine ready to come out and go to its new home in Craig's back yard. This is all making me kinda sad, so I'm taking more off than I need to, but I can sort that out later.

There's a bunch of free stuff I'm ditching, some off the car, some just sitting around:
- complete NA 240 2 1/4" exhaust. Custom built for the YROG back in the day. No use for it now.
- B21A block
- B21F crank
- B21F, FT, and A pistons. All in various states, but mostly useable.
- flathood in rough condition
- 2 #160 heads. 1 is K-jet, and rebuilt probably 50,000km ago. The other is carbed, and off a "rebuilt" engine, but condition is mostly unknown.
- 1 steelie with good rubber
- Good M40 transmission with fairly new clutch

If you want it, come grab it. Otherwise its going to the wrecker.

Also free: brown 245 interior, with brown vinyl seats. Yes, your dreams have come true.

How loud is it? I'm hearing some burbles from mine. Don't need something all noisy like but something without leaks might be good.

Have you had other interest in the Billys? After driving this car for a bit I find there is really nothing wrong with the shocks. Go ahead and sell them elsewhere if you want. If they're not sold when I come down for the hood/fenders, I'll take them.

Pretty loud. It used to set off car alarms in Vancouver. Probably not what you need. Adding a second muffler at the back would help.

No other interest in the Billy's, no. I probably will post them on TB once the car is out of the garage then. But if you want 'em when you're still down, they're yours.

Well, the engine is OUT. Second time I've done it by hand, and overall it went pretty well. My efforts to drop it on Craig's doorstep tonight in complete stealth were thwarted by Jetta. Sorry for the disturbance Craig!

That said, I'm just pulling shocks/struts, springs, brakes, fuel pumps, and the brake master cylinder, and then the car is gone. I need to pull the red car in pronto as its now leaking fluid on my driveway. Shit.

Also free: Garrett turbo with b21ft manifold out of my old b21f+t. Lots of shaft play.

Are you just needing something to roll the Smurf away on? If so I have a donut you can have if that helps?

Yup. Just need to wheelbarrow it out of the garage, and possibly onto a flat deck. You don't need it back?

Also, I understand you have a fuel tank bung nut tool?

No. Yes.

I can probably spin by later today and drop the above off and get some stuff out of your way. LMK what works.
