So on top of the issues I have had with getting the water pump and timing belt done on Lisa's 240 our oldest daughter decided to run her car (Suzuki Swift) out of oil and toast the engine. I know, it's not much of a car but for a poor student it served the purpose and was cheap on gas. On Friday Lisa comes home and says "you know how you were talking about painting the hood on the wagon"... yeah...? Well when you get it straightened out it's going to need paint. The streets were slick while she was out running some errands at lunch and she rear ended a cube van. Adding to my joy was the thought that 90 was a one off for the front end... great!

The head and corner lights mounts are both broken and the support on the side is bent but might be able to be straightened. The hood is obviously toast but at least it doesn't appear to have pushed back in to the cowl and the fender looks untouched. The trim piece below the headlight might be slightly bent but doesn't look too bad. The good news is it looks to my untrained eye as all unbolt/bolt on work with no "body" work required. Frustrating because I've been waffling about getting rid of this car as I just have too much going on and too little energy to get it done, this is NOT helping...

I just pulled the headlights, brackets and corner lights out of mine so you're welcome to whatever you need. The trim piece is plastic so won't be "bent" but it might be broken. I have those pieces too. None of the stock stuff works with the big e-codes I just put in. The color is even right...

I was thinking about your swap and was hoping it worked out for you. Once I figure out for sure what's broke I'll get in touch. How much for your hood?? Speaking of hoods, which years and model can I look for? I checked PnP and they have no 940's and only 1 -89 740.

If you need a hood there's a white '90/91 740 in Bucks Auto Parts (formally Kar Bashers) in Sherwood Park... Somebody has dismantled the headlight/grille area but I think the hood was good. I'd have to double check if you were serious about making a trip up for it!

^^ Thanks Darren! Obviously I'm hoping to find one a bit closer but if it comes down to it I would appreciate you having a look before I head up there, thanks again.
