Some of the technical background would argue the opposite- cast cranks have the same metallurgy from the surface to the core, whereas forged cranks- at least in the muscle car era- were more often than not surface treated. In itself taking .25mm off of 50-odd-mm does not create a concern. Also cast cranks tend to self dampen harmonics- not entirely but a little, and more than forged.
That said, don't re-use the crank. In fact, why not get back to a b23 block?
