Afternoon,

Want to paint the engine and trans for my car, but don't know which way I want to go. Thought about powder coating, but was suggested by someone else to use some sort of epoxy paint?

Any recommendations? Want something that will last long and can take some abuse (especially from chemicals).

Thanks,

I've used regular single stage automotive urethane for years. It's hard, durable and engine temps don't get high enough to cause problems. Check out my pushrod engine building thread. Just epoxy prime and paint. You will need to prime it - check the open times for the epoxy. Most are over 24 hours. You can get any colour this way including RED - which is the most expensive paint you can buy.
