Looking for advice. Want to buy set of tires for my 740TDI. Have factory 15in 10 spoke turbos on car with 185/70-15s just about down to cord. Thinkng of 195/60.15 all seasons for summer but would like to go wider but very little room between tires and struts so not sure how wide I can go. Advice from experience plse.

I think stock is 195/65, no? Anyway, I had 205/55 (with 7" wheels) on my 780 and they fit.

Later turbos came with 205/55-16 as stock, as Matt said he ran 20/55-15 on his 780 which I will be running on my 122 if it ever gets on the road. Biggest issue with 205/55-15 is there are only a few tires available in that size anymore, and they are all UHP. A better more available (ie:cheaper) size that has been used lots is 205/60-15, gets you wider and preserves some comfort with the taller sidewall. How did you end up with 185/70-15, never heard of Volvo ever using that size?

Edit: Actually took a look around, are you sure you're running 185/70-15?? That's a really obscure/oddball size. If you are and you want the speedo to read around the same as now the 195/65 or the 205/60 are all around the same diameter.

I bought the wheels off a fella who was parting out a a turbo 740 and the tires came with the wheels. they look really narrow for 185/70s. can't remember name, something oddball.

I think I mght try the 205/60s if they donbt rub on the struts. Not much clearance but would enjoy the increased stability. Thanks for advice
