So clear anodized with subsequent pitting is the starting point.
Stock resto (dad's car) so nothing but how to get back to showroom.

Oven cleaner removes the anodizing, then belt sand the pitting and work up in grits?

Anodize, or bodyshop-clear-paint the result? Or both?

Anything I am missing?

Easy button would be to have the anodize shop just do it for me.
Availability of the OE Volvo bumper bars appears long past. (1304533 & 1304531)

I need to watch the wreckers or if a member has to sell: car has those reflector tapes down the center and they are in rough, rough shape...and I never liked them.
Took a lot of effort with a pin strip tool removing disc to take off even a few inches, and the rubber looks ripped up after.
So I need bumper rubbers..81-84 era, not sure if the 75-80 are different, I want to say they are?

If it was me, I'd redo the anodizing...no point in putting clear as the anodizing would be better in the long run. I can't help out with the rest.

Commando bumpers are the same from 75-84 here in Canada. Shouldn't be hard to find a nicer set. I'd always wanted to remove the rubber and polish a set, but its a lot of work.

I have a pretty nice set. And I'm local. Come get them.
