Well, The tercel has served me well, and probably will live a few more months, but then it will probably die. I've had a few other tercels - and they take roughly 6 months of constant abuse, and then the transmission dies. Bear in mind these are 50-150 dollar cars, and fixing them is of course out of the question, so any usable parts go into the garage/on ebay/on tercel4wd.com, etc. - But I digress.
I need another vehicle soon, the Volvo will do well and be fun, but I like AWD more than I like RWD.
I've been thinking about acquiring the late 80s, early 90s Toyota Corolla 4WD Wagon/or Sedan (sedans with 4wd are rare) - then just doing basic bolt ons, lighter flywheel and good springs and tires - and then cage and strip it.
Remember here guys, if you are going to suggest something: I am poor, I am poorer than anyone you know, that starving child in Brazil you think is poorer than me? No, you're wrong - I am enormously poorer than him/her. So nobody suggest: "Oh, I've got a subaru for sale for 6000 dollars ... etc."
Project/car budget: 900 dollars absolute blowing through the roof maximum.
I know _very_ little about subies, but I know there's gotta be a few cheap a nifty lil subies around somewhere?
I've heard interesting things about the honda Civic 4wd wagon (yes, I don't know why I love ugly cars, so shoot me)
and the Nissan Multi 4wd.
Anyone care to chime in on the suckyness/coolness of these cars?
Remember: Car, cheap, 4wd - oh, and more than 60hp ... The tercel is.. just... Soooo................... SLOW! 8O
Take care guys.
