Yup I’m here almost every day, just seldom login as all of the forums are public, and as Craig alluded to not much happens here anymore

I have been meaning to login and post to the thread once I was caught up, but you’ve been so busy putting up vids that I keep falling behind. I still need to watch the latest one yet, but it’s all still mind boggling what you’re doing. I have to say the shots of you sitting in an installed seat is starting to give it some sense of getting “closer” to being a car.

Thanks guys. I'm just starting to feel good about parts of the build. It gets depressing from time to time.

The video's help.

I check the forum every couple days, and belong to your FB page, and the other Amazon pages on FB. These cold temperatures slow work to a crawl for me with no heated shop and low funds, whichis the reason for my lack of contribution lately. Your work is inspiring, it's a pleasure to watch and read. You have put a ton of work into the documentation and production of the content, and I for one thank you for that. It's a bit tough for me sometimes to document after working for what seems a long time, then to get the content together. that content helps everyone down the road. Cheers!

Thanks guys - good to know it's not just the Google bots that are reading this work. Lots of progress to report on this time.

i started off by finishing off some interior details. I made some dimple plates to finish off my seat brackets.

Image

They join the sides so that the seats can be fit properly. With a latch only on one side, these tie the brackets together to help fit the seats, and they look cool.

Image

Image

Image

I fixed the closing panel for the bottom of the drive line tunnel.

Image

I cleaned up the bottom cross member reinforcing loop. It's ready to fit.

Image

Image

I fixed up the other A-pillar while I was getting things done.

Image

Image

Got busy working out how to do the race pedal installation. False floor frames are done.

Image

Changed my mind with the centre support rib.

This one has a flat at the top for my feet.

Image

A 2 mm 5052 aluminum sheet makes up the floor.

Image

Then I built the closing panel for the firewall. Still working on the brackets for this part, but it's shape is done.

I never realized how little travel those pedals will have. It looks like not much, anyway, but because they swing towards the far part of the floor maybe it's only perception.

The only one I'm worried about is the clutch. The throttle is on the stop well before the plate and has about 75 mm of motion (completely adjustable) - the brake travel I measured on Jim's car was 25 mm at full stomp. So it's just the clutch volume that I'm a bit concerned with. For reference, when I'm making vroom - vroom noises the pedals don't feel weird. Heal toe is stupid easy. I'm guessing that the clutch may not need as much throw as the stocker due to the TO bearing being hydraulic. No way to know without setting it up.

I'm selling a few shirts and hoodies. All proceeds go to support my Volvo Canadian build.

Quick update.

Things are still moving at a glacial pace...at least it matches the weather. The floor frame got welded in with about a thousand screws to secure the panels! I know it's overkill - but it won't rattle.

Image

I spent an entire weekend getting the final fitting done on the panels and building the dead pedal. It's now done.

Image

I have since turned my attention to the projects that were left half done and have started getting those done.

Things like engine mounts.

Done.

Image

Then the oil pan has been half done for about 6 months - so I fitted up the various parts.

Image

Image

And then welded it all up. No leaks.

I'm not sure what I should attack next...could be interior rear floor pans or I could get the anti roll bar installed. Both need finishing.

WTF are you talking about: "glacial pace"??? You're motoring through this. It's a huge pile of work and you're crushing it piece by piece. It takes time. You're not building the average car here.
