While I'm waiting for something to go right, I figured I may as well post some shots of the parts. All of the fancy blue stuff is from Avalanche and the brakes/hats will be painted to match.

Have a look.

Dood. When are you putting those on the car?
I can hardly wait.

Rears are going on tonight...fronts have to wait for me to make an adjustment to the caliper bracket, so not until later this week. Wiring is as done as I can make it without the engine to get wire lengths. So I may have to do some work on the house to keep out of trouble

Is the manufacturer of those pretty things, maybe going to make some for a 240, since even my cost on S60R calipers jumped to 500 a pop.

Dang...I think that was a shot over my bow... :D

The 240 front caliper brackets are kicking our butts. Hopefully this winter in the comfort of Matt's nicely heated garage we'll be able to come up with something...

$500 a pop...wow for double that you could do Wilwoods on all 4 corners and toss in a set of hats and rotors. Well just about. If memory serves, the FSL-4's were $170 each and the rotors and hats were about $100 a side.

As you can see from the photo's Dale's parts are excellent quality and worth every penny.

On the wierd, but it could only happen to me front  . I put the rear wheels on after work today and get this, out of a sealed box of fancy chrome lug nuts, one has a 13/16 hex and the rest are 19mm. Discount is shipping me a replacement set right away.

This could only happen to me, or at least it seams that way. Man, I'm itching to do some body work on Dale's car - at least that turns out fine and I don't have to run around trying to get the rest of this stuff to work.:drinkers::drinkers::drinkers:

But very pretty...the wheels and tires look HOT :D (no pictures - I want it to be a big surprise -that and pictures of stuff in my garage suck for a lot of reasons). On the upside, Discount tire direct was great and is express shipping me a new set of lugs - great customer service.

Off to machine the adapters and front spacers tonight...I'll get these brakes test fitted on Wednesday  .

I had to do some manual machining on the front spacers and on the adapter brackets, it's a long story - but having access to a mill and a lathe was very helpful. I bored out the adapters and knocked 100 thou off the brackets and everything lines up as it should.

I'll mock up the lines tomorrow night and get the brackets, calipers and hats painted. Then install the set brakes after a weekend of fishing.

The brakes are finally installed and ready to go, still no engine but at least this part of the puzzle is finally off the drawing board and installed in the car.

Image

Here you can see the brackets from the back side and the new brake lines.

Image

Front suspension all rebuilt and as perfect as I can make it.
Image

Other side. There is some rubbing at full steering lock, but the wheels are 7" wide for heaven's sake.

Image

View of the front with the relocated horns and relocated oil filter.

Image

For those that are wondering...yes those are 17" wheels, plenty of room for even larger brakes. I'm pretty sure these will be enough to slow me down.

Here they are from the side. I've added the Volvo hub caps and the brakes are sporting Q-Matrix pads.

Image

Rear brakes, now you can finally see them.

Image

Here's the view from the side - I'm liking it a lot. Definately not the look I was going for, but I like it.

Image

Here's my fender cover in place and painted...I polished it up a little. Looking very clean under the hood.

Image

And last but not least, by diff cover had a little leak, so I replaced it with this cover from Summit Racing. I painted it with PPG DCC Black and then brushed the ribs. The ribs needed some modification to clear the panhard rod. Looks loads better than the polished bling most go for.

Image

Now all I need is my damn engine.

Dayum...

That stuff is lookin' good. The car should have a bit of a rake to it when you get the engine in. Should look good though. I forget, did you cut the rear springs? If so, maybe I should look for some that are a bit shorter to begin with. I've got Jonathan checking with his spring supplier to see if he can get me JP's springs and for how much...
