Nothing like getting an all-original 40-year-old car out and about...

Oh my...that is beautiful! I love early 145's with the split rear window, love that colour, and LOVE the colour matched wheels! Why have I never seen your car before?

No real history - I bought it from the original owner near Hillspring. I've had it for about 7 years or so, but it was only after I built a garage that I was really able to get it roadworthy. These days I do indeed drive it to work every day - I work at Lo-Cost Propane, across from the John Deere dealer on 5th avenue north. It looks a lot better at a distance than up close! There is a little rust here and there... I took the front passenger seat out to recover it, and then just left it out altogether - I like the look. I don't ever have any passengers anyhow, because no one else wants to be seen in an ancient Volvo! My wife says that when she sits on the back seat she feels like a VIP being escorted around town. Hey, it's all ammunition for parts money [-o<

Very nice, as Greg said looks great with the color matched wheels. That color is definitely suited to this time of year. When driving by Lo-Cost I noticed another interesting little car parked out front but never stopped to look. Can you tell what it is, it's a midget sized 2 door coupe two tone white with blue or grey on bottom?? Is it yours as well??

Good eye! That is indeed mine as well - I rarely drive it to work, so you must've caught it on one of those days...

It's a 1991 Nissan Figaro. Here is the obligatory wikipedia reference:

YOU HAVE A FIGARO??!?!?!?!?! they are one of the cutest cars in the world! They look like a modern day autobianchi....I like the looks inside and out. To bad they are auto's, a stick shift would make that car so authentic feeling.

It's not so cute right now. If I could just get that damn wiring done I'd get the car running... :^o

Continuing the theme of autumnal excursions, I went out today on the original highway 845 that ran from Coaldale to Picture Butte back when my car was fresh off the dealer's lot. This must have been hair-raising back in the days of bias-ply tires and sealed beam headlights!

OK, where's that road...inquiring minds want to know. Great photos by the way - I'd like to take my 242 out to get a few decent shots of it while it's still clean and the snow hasn't fallen.
