Special point of interest, where OSHA supposedly allows this sort of behavior.

Dang, my hands are sweaty!

With Telus I was up several towers which were between 100-200 ft high, I was crapping my pants on those .... hell I have flown in aircraft below 1700 ft.
This is a real good video to show high school students "see what will happen if you don't graduate ..."

why the hell wouldn't you wear a parachute, just in case you needed to get down quick? Hell, just to avoid having to CLIMB all the way back down- down is harder than up!

Second watch...hands still sweaty. I also wonder about sway due to wind. That's gotta add in a whole new dimension. I agree about a parachute.

:o I wouldn't fancy sharing the very top of the tower with another person... so little room!

I'm not sure about climbing that last 200 feet with a parachute plus a spare, or jumping/falling 1700 feet and having time to deploy/assess/abort/redeploy. I guess BASE jumpers do it all the time from heights lower than this, but they're ready for the fall and are pointed in the right direction. It takes time to get flipped around and stable enough to deploy a chute safely. I also had the thought of at least a backup chute in case you fell (wouldn't want to count on it for a normal descent, as you tend to damage ankles upon touchdown) but that's another 20 lbs to carry and work with.

Agreed, besides feeling queasy watching that whole video, seeing that second guy below made me claustrophobic. :-&

The space needle, which is "only" about 600ft tall, sways about 1" per 10 mph of wind. Go up it with 35-40mph of wind to the restaurant and you might feel full pretty early.

That looks like fun...

for the right person...

Imagine that view and jumping off it (if one could get far enough away and get headed vertical again). That's awesome! Thanks for posting that.

I'm guessing rock climbing people have to do something "safe" during the week!
