Wow! Yeah, that will be a buy. One hopes that the minimal rust doesn't turn into rockers and fender sills, but there is a good car for somebody with a little initiative (and paint skills). I hope it comes to Alberta, but somebody would have to tow it, there's the kicker.

I'll be interested to see what "offer" he takes. A thousand bucks??? Three??

How is it a great deal? He has no price listed. If he wants $4000 for the package it's not such a great deal...

I've emailed the seller. I'm going to call later today. He's got quite a bit of stuff I could use. Plus it would be a good start to a parts cache.

What do you think is a fair price for all this?

If he's actually got invested what he says he has and if he's spent the time to do all the work he says has been done, if he takes less than $4000 I'd be surprised.

4k is too much. He might have some decent parts but the car isn't together or painted & has 'very little rust'?

& saying 10k invested in a 122 doesn''t mean much at all with the amount of labor required to finish the car (I'm thinking about the 'amount of labor' I'd have to put in, but I'm a newbie slowjo! I'm sure some of you could have it ready to go in no time!)

I suppose if the seller had the time he could ebay each part & make a decent sum. But selling it as a whole? & in 6 days?

2k would be decent (almost a steal!)...Plus the towing I guess...

If I get hold of him today I'll let you all know the details.

I've heard from him. You're not going to get it for a penny under $3000. I'd be really disappointed if someone bought it just for the parts and scrapped the car...

He said the same to me, in the $3000-$4000 range. Parts or project, I'm still sort of interested.

Wellllll, he said "offers" and has to sell, so I figured whoever gets it will get a good deal. Yes, Dale, that remains to be seen.... IF there was no rust, 3K would still be a good price for somebody who wanted a 122; 3K for paint and whatever you need to pay for the interior - one could be stylin' without all the work.

However, that is part of the passion - fixing them up!!!

He told me if he doesn't get $3000 for it he'll put it in storage. He just spent $1000 on towing it from the island to Invermere. He's got $10,000 in parts and countless hours of labor. $3k is a killer deal for someone who wants to finish up a project.

Still no takers?

I might have found storage & a tow to a friends' acreage in Golden where I could finish it up. After talking with him I can't bring myself to strip it for parts (though I really want the parts!). I actually felt pretty bad for him :( Gotta make a decision soon!

According to the owner there's minimal rust. One rocker or something needs replacing (I have bad ears & my phone sucks!), & he's got the replacement panel, & the interior is all there, in good knick (according to him). & he has the paint too! - proper Volvo 122 color, cherry red I think.
He told me he's bought a lot of performance-related parts for this 122 (lots of IPD stuff) over the years.

Although I prefer the 4 door 122's, this would/could definitely be a nice coupe.

I really have to stop looking at/for 'new' projects...

Umm, that's kind of part of the requirement of being in this club...

I wonder what the ratio of 'Projects':Members is...

I have to pass on this :( .I might have found my winter driver 'project' :!: :?: (To add to the ever increasing list of unfinished winter work)

I've been searching for a buyer for him...with no luck.
