I am toying with the idea of getting an 1800 rear end with the disc brake setup to eventually put it into my Amazon. What's the likelihood of finding such a beast on the Prairies? I am reading up on the procedure, and the vClassics article is quite informative. I realize I should go dual circuit brakes as well, and there probably more items that I have forgotten about. Before planning, I'd like to know what I am getting into.
Thanks!

I'm not going to say that there is no chanceā€¦but the probability would be very close to zero. You'd be better off finding a 240 rear end (which are even getting rare) and doing the bracket swap as outlined on this board. Easy, reliable, disks and the rear drive shaft needs to be shortened 1" (from the 240 of course) and the spine fits the 122 front section.

Is mine different (other than the bracketry)? I didn't shorten a drive shaft...

You didn't use the 240 back section like I did...depends on year of 122 if the rear flange mounts up IIRC. There must have been some reason that I did this.

Larger U-joints than the 122 driveshaft that Dale used.

Here's a setup on Tbrix for pretty cheap if you can get it shipped to Sweetgrass...

Also includes front spindles so you can run 5x108 all around.

Thanks, Jim! Looks like I'll need to create an account to view that thread. I'll get it checked out.

Ah yes, the same gentleman has the same setup on the iPD classifieds as well....

I'll see if he would be willing to ship it, and how much it would be to ship to Noonan as well. It's a bit closer than Sweetgrass. I'd have to check with the bank as well.

Thanks for the link!

Your welcome, hope it works out for you. Thought you were in Calgary, hence the Sweet Grass suggestion, realized today from your FS ads that you're in Regina.
