I was wondering if anyone has some rebuildable brake cylinders and a master cylinder for my 63 544. We took them off and the silicone and regular brake fluid has pitted them so badly they would need to be sleeved. I've found new wheel cylinders for quite a decent price but they want almost half again they money just to ship, I suppose cause they have to bring them up from the USA. Would appreciate a little help.

You could try this guy: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.htm ... rce=alerts

FWIW I think this is the same seller that had the burgundy 1800 for sale last spring that was NOT as advertised so caveat emptor...

Thanks woodenshoes, maybe if my brother gets up that way he can drop in and see what can be done. He has a truck and dolly, just need two tires to stay inflated.

Did get a full set of wheel cylinders new but might have to go with a Vancouver supplier for master cylinder. $189, ouch. Was thinking of taking my MC in to a machine shop and see if they can rebuild it but it's pretty bad. Have found a 544 in with a friend's collection of oddities and he seems willing to part out but have to wait for spring now. (by oddities, I mean DKW, Bourgward and may still have that 47 Humber. Beautiful car but needs complete restore. Body good though, one dent, no rust.)

Wheel cylinders are $12 at Rock Auto...a picture of the MC would help as I'm not familiar with the 544. I'm willing to bet they are available from places like O'Reilly. Ship to the border and pick them up.
