Hey guys,

Some of you might have seen my ad on tbrix, but i have a set of mint nivomat shocks for live axel rearends for sale.
I can include the springs with them for no charge, but they're a bit saggy and have a hockey puck to space them up.

$100 for CVC members!

Can you tell me what the eye to eye measurement is exctended, compressed, as well as any idea what the measurement is at ride height?

Ive got a 505 wagon and if I could fit Nivo's for self levelling I'd be very happy. (I love the load levelling in my 00R. )

Ride height would be determined by the springs i'd think? (I have no idea how nivomats work)

I can measure it compressed and uncompressed for you tho. should be exactly the same as any 7/9 series shocks.

Nivo's are set to maintain a specific ride height, and when it falls below that height it cleverly uses the up down suspension movement to essentially pump itself back up to maintain the ride height it's set too.

Works awesome. If you can provide extended/compressed heights I'll see if they'll even fit. If they fit - it should be easy enough to find out what height they're supposed to maintain.

No problem at all man - but I'm still very interested in the dimensions if possible, and if Chis could give me the installed height I'd be very greatful.

My wagon build has a decent budget so I'd likely buy new if they fit. (Time to do anything a completely different matter!)

I tried to compress them and they were extremely difficult...i think the self leveling kicked in or something.

Thats fine - are / were you able to get extended lengths and even just from where the shock body ends should tell me how much piston is sticking out...

BTW - in the V70 ones they have an internal spring that works in combination with the coil spring - so it would be hard to push for sure - just reminded of that now.

No biggie - totally a left field inquiry to see if they could be adapted to a similar size/weight wagon. Chance it would work is slim to none but it sure would be cool if it did. :)

The ones here (for the live axle cars) are exactly the same length compressed or extended as the other non-Nivomat rear shocks, if that helps. What we don't know is the designed self-leveling length of the Nivomat unit, or the effective spring force it provides. The Nivomat cars have a much softer steel spring than the non-Nivo cars, the difference is obviously taken up by the Nivo cartridge. I don't know how stiff the dampening portion of the Nivo unit is valved either, having never ridden in one that's fully functional, but I assume it's fairly soft.

I put new Nivo's on my 00R with Koni Sport (Yellow) front struts, then repeatedly ran a really crappy undulating road while making small adjustments. Dialed it in pretty good to the point that its nicely balanced. Nivo's and stock springs definitely aren't soft in my car - Koni's are adjusted about halfway.

I'd hope 7/9 Nivo's were similar - or maybe they had stiffer damper ratings for for the Turbo wagons at least? (Or only offered on turbo/I6 cars?)

Measured it up last weekend before I sent off the package...
18.25" Eye to eye
7.75" from the eye to the shock body
