Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a 242 in reasonable condition. I'm in the Calgary area but would be willing to travel as far as BC or Saskatchewan for the right car. Would strongly prefer a manual but an auto is fine too. Would like to keep it under $4000. Thanks guys! I'm now also looking for a manual 244 or 245 however I'd like to find one in Alberta if it's one of those. Let me know what you have, thanks guys.

That's a tall order - Good luck. I'm not parting with mine and I don't think Jordan's selling his anytime soon. Are there others on the board? I've seen a few in the US that look nice.

Yeah no kidding!, I don't mind holding out for a good one though. Worse case scenario I can see about flying down to the southern states and road tripping back up in the summer time.

If you're prepared to go south keep an eye on the Volvo Orphans thread on tbrix, I've seen some nice 242's posted there. And if you want to avoid the horrendous exchange Vancouver Craigslist is probably your best bet in Western Canada, and welcome to CVC.

Seriously...$800 is a steal. I've got that in the drive shaft in my 242 and I'm not kidding.

I spent too long looking and waiting for a nice 242 shell.

That one is a steal at 800. Rust dependant of course. But it has some nice goodies on there!

It's an American 242. It has the little bumpers.

She's a head turner all right...might need someone to hold her hair when she's barfing as well.

780's cool
745's cool
740 - 760's meh.

It's just a personal thing, but that back window just makes it look like they were in a rush to get it done on the drawing board.

But those rimps, was really surprised it didn't have a fart can the size of my pop/beer can recycling barrel. No one will ever accuse the 740/760 sedan of being an attractive car, but man.... :-&
