You and I had the talk about swapping transmissions, and while it's not the simplest thing to do it is pretty easy if you get a donor car. Way easier than, say, finding someone with a nice 745T with a manual who wants to trade for an auto 945T.

Worth a try, though I can't think of anyone on here who's got and doesn't want a nice 745T-M46.

Well, I'm throwing it out there. If not, I'm just going to throw money into the wagon and make it my own lol.

I'm so bored that it just... Works. It sounds so delusional.

Ya, I was thinking that a post in Wanted on Turbobricks would have a pedal cluster and most of the other parts in Sweetgrass in a few weeks. Then just do the swap. Though I'd do a T5 and not the M46 but that's just a me thing.

T5 into a 740 isn't great. Shifter issues. You can get around it but it's sub-optimal.

There's a manual transmission turbo 740 wagon on Kijiji right now, in Calgary. "shop told us that the main baring (sic) is starting to go" might just be piston slap?

Well after meeting you yesterday, I'm keeping the wagon. If its running pristine, I'm keeping it! Dont want to mess it up unless I have to.

That beige wagon is rolling the dice and looks to be worse than mine

Work the seller hard on price, he's already put it out there that the main baring (sic) is going so you should be able to get it cheap (I also agree with Chris on the piston slap vs bearing scenario). With the current USD to CAN peso the whole car will be about the same price as buying a manual swap kit on Tbrix. You get a donor to work with side by side while doing the swap which is much easier than sorting through a pile of parts on the floor. When you're done paint the centers gold, part the rest out on Tbrix and send the shell to scrap, profit.
