Just thought I'd let everyone know that I gained an extra 85A into my garage today with a big 100A service now installed. No more turning off the lights to weld any more. Now if I can just find my electrical code book and make sure my new wiring is up to standard. Looking for a gang of plugs where I need them and lots of lights. Then I'm going to insulate and get the garage all set up for fabricating fun. Maybe even install a heater for the winter! What luxury.

Ya, how am I going to get use to welding with the lights on again? No more running into the house while painting as I've just popped the breaker again. Fun.

Oh, and I finished the shed, so it's time to fill it with gardening stuff and other random crap that I don't need in the garage. I'm hoping to get enough room to shove the Jag against the wall and have room to paint. Maybe I should just roll the thing out into the alley and hope someone steals it  .

put the jag on casters, they got them at princess auto, makes for easier moving-around once inside the garage :)

100 amps you can run 4 garages.
Just make sure you don't lick your car while you stand in your freshly washed floor holding a welder.

Nope - just the one. The new TIG requires a 60A circuit alone and I'm looking for a big ass compressor at some point and enough lights to make looking into my garage like staring at the sun  .

Nope - no worries. Bring it when you come for Street Wheelers.

Getting a little closer to done...I've now got the 240V service in for the welder and have run the wiring for all the lights. Now I just have to do the plugs and I'm done. I should still have 12 circuits or more open. Best part was today, I cleaned out the rafters. there is NOTHING up there anymore (well a few things against the sides of the garage). Makes a huge difference in the look of the place.

The sheets of plywood that were in the rafters are now right next to the big doors and are more that enough space to handle the storage I need. I tossed out so much stuff. Feels good. But it did require two showers to get clean - the dust and dirt was incredible.

Should be done this weekend, then I'm off to Peavey Mart to buy a big two stage 5 hp compressor!
