Summer has come and gone and we really did not get together or have a group event. I know I was extremely busy, others were having "challenges" getting or keeping their cars running and so on.

Thought I would send out a feeler for an informal evening meet at Boston Pizza, Jamison's, or some place with cheap food and beverages. Anyone interested and what day(s) of the week work best?

I'm down. Tuesdays-Thursdays are pretty flexible for me in the fall.
The 242 got towed away last week, so I'm down to one car and a bike!

I don't recommend riding the bike in this weather

My life is pretty much subject to Roberta's schedule, though Thursdays are typically *alright* for me and me alone.

You guys should get together every month - have a set date/time as I've started with the Edmonton meets. It's kicked off pretty good and keeps everyone 'in touch' offline. Nice for 'new guys' too.

I'd personally like to get down for a weekend meet and put names to faces, at some point...

Just a thought for later; would you guys be up for a Calgary / Edmonton Christmas dinner meet in December, in Red Deer somewhere?

I'm down for any and all of these events...my Mom lives in Red Deer and doesn't mind seeing me once or twice a year.

For the past several years we have had a Christmas gathering that has always been well (or should I say VERY well) attended. We usually rent a local coffee shop after hours and have catering provide a full meal, beverages are BYO but it is licensed. We have also learned that January is a far better month for this event, in December everyone is so busy there are usually lots of last minute no-shows.

I agree that with our expanding membership a centralized location would make more sense, but what we should also look at is the numbers of members attending and where they are located. This is definitely something to look into further.

On another topic we initially had monthly gatherings, but they slowly declined in attendance until we could sit at a table for 2 or 4 Maybe it is time to try it again.

Ian do you have a date in mind?
I purchased a case of wine 6 red and 6 white it's just a table wine.

For those of you who did not know Paul (Bert & Jacks Automotive) was the prime sponsor last year.

No date yet, in fact have not even started the planning but the venue is usually not too booked in January.

This does not mean to say we cannot have several events this winter, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, ....

being a student, i would be more inclined to travel to Lethbridge as it only costs me $3 there and back
