" any of the rigs (Service) I have worked with were rod rigs incapable of much else."

Never been on a service rig, but not that long-ago the quality of drilling rigs in Saski was ummmm... minimal. Nonetheless, we drilled 2000m horizontals with them, 25% faster than anybody in Alberta with all the bells and whistles, and it was all because the rig hands knew exactly what they were doing. I'm told the old Big Sky rigs were converted Service Rigs. Nowadays there is lots of new Iron there; rigs from Alberta - triples even. I'm surprised if service rigs havn't improved also, but what do I know.

I don't miss the cold weather down there in the winter (I'm 'retired' from the rigs now), but I'll definitely make a road trip down there in the old Volvo once I get her going.

Here's a few more notable picks of the car...

The car reportedly "sounds like a baby dragon" after this mod. Intake donated from a nissan 240sx SR20DET.
