Hey all, i'm new around here, just thought i'd say hi!
I actually live in Sask, but my good buddy (Rockmonton) got me into Volvos and pointed me to this forum!

Sold my 91 R32 Skyline GT-R and bought a 94 Volvo 940 Turbo sedan...so far i'm lovin' it!! I've found out that you don't need the fastest car out there, or spend huge amounts of money to have fun.

Cheers from Sask!

-Sol

^^^ That takes me back a few years.... Used to play rugby with the Calgary Saracens and the only beer we served in our clubhouse was Calgary, we either converted or pissed off a lot of people with that decision.

Oh and welcome to CVC, looks like some interesting work coming up. :D

Hi - welcome.

I guess we'll have to stop making jokes about Saskatchewan now... [-X [-X

I've spent a lot of time drilling oil wells in Sask. and would rather be there than Alberta or BC anytime. Anybody who has been knows what I am talking about, and for anyone who doesn't - the rig hands only work 8 hour shifts, and drive home every day. You would not believe the difference it makes - like between working with a rhino and stallion.

So, no-offense Saskatchewanite - I'm one too actually!

(and, really, any beer will do...) :P :P

Welcome aforum Sol!

Glad to hear your having fun in the 940. I'd like to say speed isn't everything, but I haven't owned any fast cars, so who am I talk! Post up some pictures of the ride! :D

Have to admit the pace in Sask. is way laid back compared to Alberta and is kind of a nice change from the go hard or go home attitude here. BUT... the quality of hands and equipment is another story, any of the rigs (Service) I have worked with were rod rigs incapable of much else. Myself and any of the other WSS from the company I worked for hated going there and wished we could bring an Alta. rig with us (impossible of course). Although in fairness the same can be said of rigs in Alberta, the further east you go the worse it gets. That said the guys were always very friendly and personable.
