The RPM sensor mounts to the block on the 92, and there is a cut-away on the bell housing from what I can remember. So I'd just have to notch out the M46 housing, hopefully a t5 trans in the future.

Has anyone taken the tone ring (or whatever you call it) and mounted it to a regular old flywheel to your knowledge? Tracking down a flywheel with that ring is going to be mission impossible around here, I can't see many people wanting to ship a flywheel.

I hope this swap pays off, if not I might have to run a non volvo engine

Ian, a meet would be really cool. I would gladly make a trip out there if it could work in for me. Really depends on the family though, I don't think my son would have much fun on a car meet at his age, I'd have to come solo.

if you're going manual, RSI now sells a flat flywheel with the sensor holes milled into it.

Yes, the sensor holes are machined into the flywheel, it's not a separate piece. Someone in Calgary may have one...or RSI if you can spring for it.

Ok, enough of that electronical carburation injectiony talk, we're putting poor Craig to sleep...

The diameter of the tone ring is right around the diameter of the flywheel, and the holes are almost completely contained within the thickness of the flywheel. Others have modified their flat flywheels with the holes, and if they can be purchased outright, so much the better. If you have a cheap machine shop and trust them to get the work done right, go for it. Don't be tempted to advance or retard the holes for whatever reason, though - EZK totally compensates for it.

I think I have a stock Lh2.4 flywheel. Shipping would be costly no doubt...

No, I think only 1990 models had the automatic flywheel

I think Dale said he saw one at PYP today as well. You'd have to sweet talk someone to pull it for you though! I'd volunteer but i have a dis-assembled 945 at the moment and my back is already sore from fighting with it for the last 11 days and freezing my ass on my motorbike in between!
