Don't buy the Bertone! Or any Volvo with a V6 earlier than a B280. Not a daily driver. Look it up on Brickboard.com or other sources. For winter cars, there are lots of 7xx and 9xx around for dirt cheap, many (not all!) in surprisingly good condition.

Not to mention one of the ugliest cars ever made...

Back on topic...the OD mounted on the opposite side of the turn signal is stock. In fact there is extra plastic molded into the cover for the switch. Drill the hole - too easy. I've seen lots of 122's with goofy illuminated switches from CanTire, tacky I say.

As far as the OD goes - failure to disengage is usually just O-rings and a quick rebuild. I've done a few and they all work flawlessly. You may not want to do this work yourself as it requires some specialized tools. They are complicated inside, but not much to fix.

Now - Off Topic. I'll go on record as saying that the 240 based Bertone is actually a cool car. It would be on my personal "Cool Wall". Engine be damned - that shape (done right) would be cool.

Ditto, or at least as far as Bricks go. I think they are a classy car, if a little on the formal side.

I think Bertones look good. But beauty is so subjective. The ugliest 'car' (in my opinion) ever made - with no redeeming qualities whatsoever - has to be the pontiac aztec. Shockingly ugly design! Even more shocking is some people bought them.

I really like the basic bottom end 240's (don't like power windows, or seats, etc etc) & can probably grab one pretty cheap. & I won't feel sacrilegious driving it in the winter.

That's what I've got at the moment. Can Tire blackbox special with 3 switches mounted below the ashtray. One for fan, one for fog lights, & one for O/D. & yep, it's ugly! Functional but ugly.

& I have a push start, which combined with the switch box makes for some messy wiring.

I'm keen to learn though. I think I'm going to have an interesting winter!

Waaay off topic again - the penticton car show is on this weekend, & from what I've heard there's quite a big turnout. My folks were driving from cowtown to the Island yesterday & saw a steady stream of 'classics' heading my way. Should be fun. & at the same time there's an Elvis impersonator festival!
