Okay, we're not done yet, but I thought I'd upload some photos of what's been keeping us busy this summer.

??? (not finished yet)

The many layers of floor: vinyl tile over linoleum over particle board that was screwed & glued down to the original vinyl tile over the plywood subfloor.

More of our hell.

A before picture of the wall and doorway we removed.

Drywall work, moving electrical plugs, etc. It was easier than patching things up.

More of the same.

Roberta removing chunks of "drywall" (3/8" StoneLath covered by 3/8" plaster, nailed to the studs) and the milk chute. The milk chute still exists on the outside for storage of dog poo bags, leash, ant killer, etc.

The countertops just got delivered today, but they messed up and didn't have the sink. I haven't installed the faucet yet as a result. Obviously we still haven't done the floor tiles, as we haven't torn up the back stairs yet and figured out what we're doing there, nor have we done the backsplash, and we still have the odd touch-up to take care of before we call it quits. There's a shelf to go between the two cabinets and above the window, a couple of hooks for oven mitts, and other things like that.

Well done!! Looks great Matt! Removing that doorway opens things up a bit eh?

Edit: I hear on ya on the flooring hell. When I did my living room hardwood there was multiple layers of flooring and then the particle board ring nailed down. SUCKED.
