Today I went to a 'reputable'(?) bodyshop for an estimate on repairing some rusty spots on my 122 & the quote I got was proper ridiculous! The dude at the shop barely looked at the car & quoted some random number & said 'this needs cutting, this needs cutting etc etc etc' which I know is all BS (it's all surface rust).

Anyone know of a decent shop or someone who does bodywork?

What price did he give you...where are you located again? Surface rust - hmmm that's usually dubious, rust is rust and it often a lot worse than you appreciate.

I would say that a reasonable price for a decent respray would be in the $5000 range (not kidding). If the car was immaculate, then perhaps a couple of grand less.
