Hi Guys,

Just like many, I've got a Princess Auto blast cabinet and it's been rather heavily used in the past few years. It's dim, sort of sputters a lot and the low quality hoses and gun have ticked me off for years. I found a supplier online that sells upgrade parts for these Chinese cabinets.

Here's where I started:

Image

Upgrade #1 - New supply tube. The new one is substantially larger and a different design, but bolts right in.

Upgrade #2 - New gun and supply line.

This is the line that kinks all the time.

Upgrade #3 - New gloves. Now with feel and easy to install.

Upgrade #4 - LIGHT - for the love of Pete - the florescent tube that was in my cabinet was like blasting in the dark. I went for the full monty with a duplex socket and interior flood light.

Whoa - that's a lot of light.

I've got the same one.

- I redid the hose that kinks- and the other one- in a longer length so I could get the gun in at odd angles. I used Kuritec soft yellow (low temp rated) airline hose. I think for both?? Got it at Gregg's
- used a (Princess Auto) rechargeable trouble light for extra light- that can be directed. It won't last indefinitely, but so far so good.
- a 5" Diam industrial wood/machine shop vacuum hose flapper door fitted central on the "closed" end so I could fit items larger than normal in, at the expense of some mess escaping when the hatch is open. I actually did a Toyota 7.5" rear solid axle, 65% on one side and then take it out and reverse
- I tried coarse green glass abrasive vs the over-fine white stuff I initially got.
- ran my little compressor designed for nailers and so on (5 CFM at 100, though so among the best of it's type) through a 5 (?) gallon aux tank to allow some build up of pressure. It's still kinda borderline.
- added a serious industrial drier. I want to say Lincoln brand? army green in colour.

Biggest problem to date is the damn peel away lens covers- they don't fit or seal, and the replacement pack I got has no adhesion on the edges.

- I have small hands, so the gloves it came with work fine. I don't know how some guys with big hands could use the OE gloves. Sized in China, quite obviously.

Let me know how much difference you see with the new gun/siphon tube

The new gun and siphon hose work a lot better than the original. No more random clogging or stuttering. The light is probably the best upgrade and I'm still not liking the silly plastic window covers. I'm not sure what the upgrade would be, but at this point it's all I've got.
