Alright folks, I've got cabin fever and am dying for a road trip. We've come up with a couple ideas, some are more epic than others, so it's time to nail down a few.

First idea is a cruise through the badlands. I'm picturing a convoy of Volvos cruising from around the Drumheller region through Medicine Hat and down to Lethbridge, doing our best to stay on interesting/scenic roads all the way. Maybe one of the Lethbridge/Coaldale folks will provide a finish line BBQ or something. I'm hoping our spring is fairly dry and warm so that we can get on this before May Long Weekend, or maybe on the long weekend itself. I'm going to need some help from our Southeastern friends to plan a route.

The second idea is a run around the mountains. We could meet in Nanton like our last big cruise several years ago and cruise down to Fernie, up the 93/95 to Radium, and then back home. This could be a bit of a long drive for some, but it offers us a little hot springs action partway through. This one would be a bit more sketchy: unless we do it in June or July, we might hit weather.

Thoughts?

I'd totally be down to do the badlands route, if someone would part out a late 764 already. But I'd probably slow everyone down by stopping at every car rusting away in a field so I can mark it on my map.

Normally I would dive in right and say anytime would work, however this year the first half of July and probably the last half of June are going to be hectic at times around here. Any other year, or maybe earlier and I could probably do the BBQ. May long could work as the Sunday is usually somewhat quiet, but most people book that weekend for other things?

That Radium loop would be fun, but it's pretty much an overnighter or one hella long day with minimal stops. Agree on doing it later as snow in May is definitely a concern.

I'm down for an earlier cruise through the Badlands. That would be cool. I know the roads in the Southeast part of the province pretty well, so I can help plan that. There isn't much for twistys, but there's some good scenery for sure. I can definitely host a BBQ as well.

A drive out through the badlands and down to the Hat is a great idea.

Hahahah! Well, that's a race I'm prepared to lose. Unless I buy some race gas and removed another 500lbs of weight from the car.

I would be up for a little cruise. Never having been to one of yours...I think it would be fun to blow the cobwebs off before summer.

Crap...ya...and my reading comprehension isn't what it used to be either. I though he said your car would look better "through" a Duvall windshield. Oh well...at least you know what a Duvall windshield is now...
