As most of you know I am a licenced mechanic and can legally perform insurance inspections on cars, as I have already done for a few on this forum.

I really don't mind but I would like to set a few ground rules.

1) I do check the vehicles and I will fail items like brake lines, and other safety items. Remember my licence is at stake here. It would be nice if you would go through the cars first and fix anything that is questionable

2) I require at least 2 week notice. As you can imagine I am very busy between work and my family so this needs to be scheduled in. If I am not busy it may be done right away, but I don't want the situation where "it is due tomorrow".

3) I don't charge for my services, but I appreciate labour exchange (an example is Raz helping compact the gravel in my back yard), or a nice bottle of Chardonay, or any helpful jesture.

I just want to say Ian does check the cars and does a good job at that...he fixed my brake lights for me on the 760!

since I am out of town more often than not, i'll bring ya a couple bottles...wino :drinkers:

question though...my reverse lights don't work on the GT...but that wasn't on the inspection...are there any laws regarding reverse lights?

ciao

No laws, but I am sure they will be easy to fix

Thanks, Ian! Will definitely bear this in mind. Wish I had known two weeks ago, just paid $50 to get my 945SE inspected. Yes, I did go over it first, and it passed (to their surprise, I think.)

Nother time...

Ian it sound like you might be into some landscaping in your back yard. Let me know if you need anything.

It is so funny see recognizing vehicle at the junk yard. Remember that old dodge truck you helped me out with, well it found it's final resting place at P&P.

FYI, If Ian can't help you out I have the name of a guy that comes to your house to do an insurance inspection for $40. He's an old guy and he does a good job, and the best part of all he was at my house within 2hrs of me calling.

Wouldn't be a short British fellow, would it? If so, He does my inspection for free. Well...he signs the bottom of the sheet anyways. I don't think he's actually seen the last 5 of mine...

Helps that he's worked for/with me for 20+ years...

He is short, but I don't think he is British. I can't think of his name right now, but I like your deal better!
