Hum... Does anyone ever car about their car's body? When I ask a question about mechanic, I have an answer before I send my question. But when it's about body work... :?

You should know I do 8)

I always get my touch-up paint from the dealer (Volvo) I do not think Canadian Tire or parts stores list Volvo colors

 Maybe...

I want to correct the front of my hood. I good a new paint, so it's not as strong as the original one and I got a lot of chip last winter and now it's rusting. Do I need to sand it before applying the paint? If yes, what should I use? And after that, I'd like to install something to protect it. Many people told me to put some 3M plastic. What's your thoughs on this?

hey steph, i would sand the rust off if i were you, rust has a problem of spreading like mad once it starts. im not such what to sand it with but i used a dremel on very slow rpm on some of my rust.

Also here is an idea I found on IPD

Do-It-Yourself paint jobs are never as good as what a paintshop can do. Body / paint shops use 2 part paints that harden much better and wear longer than standard paints.

Yes you can buy these "professional" paints but you need a major investment in equipment to apply it. I even had a body shop paint my hood when I installed the cowl induction aluminium hood.

Now on this forum the "expert" with a spray can is Raz  who I am sure will add his comments very soon

I just want to correct the front of the hood, doesn't need a professionnal job!

Anyway, I don`t think it's worth to put too much money in the body (to my regrets... )
