Just looking for a little advice... as I normally do! My car is still got it's hesitation on the throttle, especially at "gentle" modes from complete stops. Tac bounces around 300 rpm variances, and is not very happy. IT idles fine though - just around 1500 - 2000 is where I notice the most problems and when it starts to act up, if I give her a little more juice she is happy.

There are no lights on, and the code reader didn't show any codes. I have an appt with Valentine that warned me it could cost $120 to get the codes from it if they are not throttle related (under the extended warranty).

So... do I drive it till I get warning lights? Take it in? (it is a pain to drive!) or does anyone have any insight as to what the problem may be?

OR... maybe I am right??

It's pretty hard to make any sort of guess without knowing what type of car you have and what engine and intake system we're talking about.

Notwithstanding that the first things I'd check are for vacuum leaks (i.e. split hose, loose hose connection, etc) and loose or dirty electrical connections and grounds. It could be you have a bad sensor somewhere but you'd think a bad sensor would trip a code. If, as you say, no codes have been tripped then I'd look at the simplest things like vacuum leaks and bad/loose connections first and eliminate all those sorts of things before taking it into a dealer and paying $120/hour or more for someone to look at it.

Andy (edicus) may be the best help on this, but the 2000 C70 uses an electronic throttle which is known for the problem you are experiencing.

I don't think a common OBDII code reader will show the fault, you need the Volvo unit (ya another damn dealer item)

Maybe PM Andy to see if he has any insights
