Just got a set of the General Altimax Arctic with studs for the 960.

I'm really impressed so far on ice, freezing rain and snow. Next year we'll get a set for the Honda to replace the Michelin X-ice. Came out to $600 installed and balanced for 195/65R15 which is not bad locally.

Richard

I'm enjoying my G5's I bought from tiretrends. $500 out the door. Studs would be nice with the roads lately, but I won't miss them 90% of the time. I only have used studded Hakkas to compare on this car, and so far they are great. really couldn't complain if i wanted to for the price!

of course anything is better than the 205 v rated stuff I use for summer.

The Hakka 5 studded I got for the C70 are incredible.
I have used Hakka WR, Gislaved both studded and unstudded and Hakka 2 studded.
The Hakka 5 studded are way better that all my previous winter tires, bad side is the price, they are WAY more money that any of the other tires but so far this winter an investment that is paying off.

We're right on the coast so freezing rain and very high winds (the kind that push your car over a foot or so before you react) are pretty common. Studs are very much appreciated in these parts!

We also get tons of snow so dedicated winter tires are a must:

I do own a snowblower, I use it for clean up after my snow clearing contractor comes by with his tractor mounted snowblower! The $20 I give him every time always feels like the best $20 I've ever spent ($280 total last year).

Last winter the schools closed at least once a week during January and February, 3 of those weeks they were closed 2 days.

Just got my Nordfrost 5 (185/70) mated to the Coronas.

I've noticed an incredible different in handling. Very sensitive, in fact, especially so on the highway. I guess a combination of the smaller tire and rim. I'm just wondering what PSI I should keep the tires at? They are currently 31...
