So, i recently bought a DIY wideband controller from 14point7.com, and i must say...really slick stuff!
The kit, plus a Bosch wideband oxygen sensor ran me about $160 shipped out of Ontario.
Note: some semi-advanced soldering skills are needed for this particular kit.
Notable features are:
-wideband, egt, rpm, boost, and 5 different 0-5v inputs can be tracked at once
-USB support with some neat datalogging software
-4-digit display on the unit itself

I ordered the unit, Wideband oxygen sensor, and 10ft of cable easily directly off the website using Paypal. Shipping was very fast, had it within a week and a half or so.

Highly recommend this kit, or anything from this website!

Here it is! It's like Christmas!

Very well designed, fits perfectly into the included project casing

All the diagnostic testing checks out, Can't wait to test it out in the car!

I'll probably mount it underneath the dash somewhere...pics to follow.

So, there's a simulated narrowband output on it, which means i'd replace the stock narrowband oxygen sensor with my wideband, and run the simulated narrowband signal out of the SLC to the ECU.
My question is, is there anything particularly quirky about my car's stock narrowband signal, or will this simulated output work just fine? It's going into a B230FT from a '94 940.

That looks tres cool. How long did it take to assemble? What can be displayed on the unit, just AFR or can it switch to other outputs?
Nothing fancy about the NB signal, just a bosch 0-1V.

It took about 4-5hrs to do, over the span of a couple of days. With proper tools it'd take less time...i used my ghetto $10 crappy tire soldering iron....and a lot of soldering braid. Hardest part was drilling the hole into the IR panel in the front for the button to poke through.

I believe pushing the button cycles through AFR, EGT, and Boost in order. I'm only using it for the AFR tho.

This must be a new version...my JAW isn't that slick and the computer interface is a little old style. I've found that it doesn't refresh very quickly and bounces around a lot. I've been "looking" for something a little less DIY for a while.

Really? that's unfortunate....yea, this one is one of the newest ones available on the site...and it looks to have what appears to be a PIC32F surface mount microcontroller, which if i'm not mistaken has a 31Mhz internal clock (There's no external oscillator), so it should be fast enough, with high enough data resolution for smooth operation...I guess i wont know until i actually test it out...
I'm getting an EGT sensor from 14point7, so i'm holding off installing it until i get it in...I'll update when i have it in and working

Welp, I finally got it installed today...Looks like it's doing a good job so far!
Refresh rate is quite good! no problems there.
Couple of minor issues...
-RPM pickup is kind of sporadic, could just be a bad ground somewhere.
-i'm not sure where the program stores the recorded real-time data...i think there's updated software for it on the website however.
-I still have to install the EGT sensor, the bung near the cat doesn't have the right threads (that would be....too easy)
-The steering wheel is phat and gets in the way of me viewing my afr data when i turn left. annoying. need new steering wheel.

I'll clean up the wires later....yes...later....

You can see the sporadic RPM data, it's the blue line, it should be a constant at the low point. AFR data is perfect, however!
