Anyone want to get some parts ceramic coated?? i am getting my mr2 stuff done pretty quick so i figure if anyone else wanted some stuff done it would be cheaper to do it all at once.

Damn...the header on the 122 would be a perfect candidate but the truck is in the garage in a hundred pieces right now so the 122 won't be rolling in for a week or two yet. How soon do you plan on doing this? How much would a header cost to do?

well i have no idea on cost but i can phone and get a rough estimate. I am not really in a rush and since you are going to let me blast some parts i don't mind waiting until you are ready.

Ya, I would love to have the headers on my small block coated, but I have heard some very disappointing reports about the local coating shops. They say it does not last, flakes off and they will not do anything about it.

And besides, my car is in winter stoage and I cannot get the headers off until spring :?

Last time (only time) I got anything done, they absolutely refused to coat headers that had been used at any time. They'd sandblast cast iron manifolds and apparently that would be good enough to let the ceramic coat stick, but they wouldn't guarantee headers unless they were unused.

Food for thought.

once my headers are built getting them coated would be nice ... but that wont be for a little while...

i've had TopGun do quite a few Motorcycle headers for me and have yet to have a problem. My track bike was done a couple seasons ago and they get HOT! No discoloration as of yet and i had to rejet the bike after coating them. The scavenging is noticably better and there is less heat coming off the headers as well.

Would deffenitely reccommend it.

I've had Top Gun ceramic coat my cast iron exhaust manifold (polished first of course :D) and was very happy with the result and turn around. Cost about $75 if memory serves.
