By the way, in case anyone is wondering exactly what Mad Max is...

I believe it's been enhanced since this pic was taken, but I can't find any links to a gallery for this car. James, you have anything?

sandblasting is the way to go!

I have access to a large(ish) sandblaster at school, and a decent relationship with the tech. Im sure I could blast a few things for people when I do batches of my own stuff, as long as the stuff is small.

btw that thing looks really bad ass

at least 3 of us have our own sandblasters and you're right, it's the only way to go...

For the big stuff I head over to Consolidated Compressor on 40th st SE and use the outdoor pit...

Matt and I have pretty much the same setup I think but I forget what tank size...60 gallon maybe? They run full time when blasting but they keep up. I need to go look at the label on mine...

Consolidated charged a dollar a minute the last time I was there. They also have a cabinet with bead that's pretty big...

cool, ill keep that in mind for later.

I suppose my 33gal wont keep up then :( if your 60 has to engage the compressor constantly to keep up.

thanks dale

Yeah, they're 18.5 cfm at 100 psig, 60 gallon tanks. They'll keep up at 70-80 psig all day long, but the heads (and tank!) get pretty hot if you blast for more than a half hour or so. If you've got anything less, a blasting cabinet is probably not a good idea, unless you're only doing small stuff in a small cabinet.

My cabinet is currently down, and has been for over a year, for modifications and updates. We use glass bead in ours, fwiw.
