Thanks for the offers guys, I think I've got this figured out. Went to a uhaul outlet in Deathbridge and they ran it through the computer and came up with the same thing I did online ....duh. I think I am going to rent a trailer in Calgary and pay an extra $24 for the one way drop off which is offset by some savings on gas hauling an empty trailer up.

please please please don't buy the u haul adapter. It doesn't work well and they will not let you take the trailer with lights not working. I went and spent the same amount of money at crappy tire for one that worked, I went back and tore a strip out of the poor girl at the counter for selling such shit.

I've got the Uhaul adapter and it works fine. What's the problem with it?

I need a 7-4 adaptor right? I'll pick one up a PA or CT when I pickup a new plug to replace mine that I just found out is pooched.

that sucks! i'd be pissed 2, the one i bought from U-haul seemed to work fine, we still use it for hauling our seadoo and it hasn't quit yet thankfully. If it doesn't work you should be able to just go back inside a get a new one free of charge though.

Well i picked up the trailer tonight so off to Calgary in the morning. U-haul just had to make it interesting at the last minute. After running the truck/trailer/car combo thru the online calculator, and having it done at 2 different u-haul outlets in Lethbridge, the computer spits out "UNAPPROVED" when the rental is entered in the system... WTF!!!

Fortunately Wally's Irrigation (the newest u-haul outlet in town) has enough common sense to look at my truck, tells me it's easily big enough for the job and raises my hitch capacity in the computer to 5500# and poof, APPROVED!! I should have known better as I had thought to myself that this whole u-haul thing was a breeze... #-o

I'm pretty sure we already told you to tell them that you have a ginormous heavy duty truck and you're towing a cooper mini.

;)

I know, but "they" ran it thru "their" system twice before I went to rent the trailer and all was well. Then when it's time to process the contract it spits it back out?? Like I said I thought it was all going too good based on everyone's advice which is why I went to 2 different outlets to pre-check my setup. For next time, yeah the truck is pretty hard to fudge in person but, the car in tow will be a Mini, smart, Honda Insight you name it as long as it is uber light... dumbf#&%'s!!
