I'd be there James. I'd be so there. I'd quit my job and sell all my current cars to have the car you describe. And to have all the tooling would rule. And to be able to build it yourself, from scratch? OH MAN!

That rubber floor you speak of...I'd love to have that in the Smurf. Is it a one piece deal? If you have a part number, I'd love to find out if they're still available.

You are married and want to stay that way, correct?

The rubber floor is exactly like the carpet, but, well...rubber. Two pieces. Part # on each. If you buy the last set from volvo I might KILL you! I want 2 NOS sets some day...one for my black wagon and one for my cop car. Rubber floor and winter mats are teh awesome!

The part # on the front piece is:
1210481
7630 IMP
8
Part # for the rear piece is:
1210482
7630 IMP
1

I suspect the top # is the one you need, but those are all the numbers on the ID tag on each piece and I typed them basically how they are displayed. Some cop cars have fancy drains in the rear floor drain holes so you can hose the puke out one would think. Mine didn't have that. Just plain jane rubber.

 Yeah, I want to stay married, but I like to pretend Laura would understand if I quit my job and worked on Volvos full-time! Actually she might in a few years.

Thanks a bunch for the part numbers James! Seriously. I'd love those mats for the Smurf, as well as a rear cargo mat. The idea with that car is to have it bulletproof, and easy to get clean as its gonna get dirty. I'll try my hardest not to take the last set from you. I would never do it. But what are the chances there are actually any left in existence? Probably low eh?

That cop car sounds cool. Does it have the aluminum hood? I would give my left nut for one of those....The drain in the back would rule, mostly for my puking passengers who are sick from my driving.

Got the car through the (very basic) insurance inspection, so she's ready for the road, if not perfect yet. changed the brakes, rear shocks, cap, rotor, air filter, motor mount andcleaned and adjusted bearings on the weekend. still needs alot of leaks fixed and fluids changed, i'll probably put the seats in from the 242 as both are shot, but otherwise pretty good for a <200k car on the road for ~$800!

damn, i forgot i'll have to check the alignment.

Is 20 years the rule for insurance inspections? I'm guessing it is as the latest 89 they requested an inspection but not for the 90 wagon we got recently.
