Hey, that's a respectable time...there isn't anything you can do with that brake line by the way. I've always heated them up with a propane torch and tried not to loose it too often.

hmm, so you're saying the chances of cutting and re-flaring it and then using an extension would be impossible?

With the 700 series Volvo switched to brass nuts on their brake lines. I rounded off 3 of the 4 I tried to loosen on my 740. I cut them off, replaced them with 240 steel nuts that I had laying around, reflared, bent up the lines to suit, and drove on. Never gave me trouble.

sweet, were they easy to flare? i've only ever tried to flare 1/2" fuel line, and then at that only a single flare instead of a double. Is there a GOOD flaring tool i should pick up?

The PA one is fine...you'll need either a metric bubble flare or regular double flaring tool. The material that they make brake lines from (that coppery stuff) is as soft as cheese, so it's easy. Just be glad they are not stainless hard lines! Follow the instructions for how to make the flares. Easy.

Not to thread-jack but I am doing the same upgrade.
I have had the urethane bushings for a while, subframe stiffening performed by the master hands of Matt D (THANKS MATT :supz: )
Although you will notice I didn't take any close-up pictures of the welds LOL
