oh yes. waxing will do wonders. she looks beautiful again! *wipes away a tear*

sadly, dad put his foot down on the clay bar thing, they didn't have the right kind at the cold lake canadian tire ANYWAY...boo. but, between thunderstorms and generally icky weather we got the car washed, waxed, interior got steam cleaned, engine got a bit of a wipe down (didn't use that gunk stuff that works bloody wonders though...and andy i need your help, I have a really busted up gibbled bit, and i need to know what it is so i can fix it....lol)

on the bright side, spending all that time under the hood, I NOW KNOW WHERE MY TURBO IS!!! YAY!!!! (but still have no bloody clue where that damned leak is...think I need to get the car UP to see it...grr...)

And yes, you boys are all laughing at me now. least i'm good for a chuckle, right?

but she is very shiny now :) she's bootiful! I wish y'all could see her...it would bring tears to your eyes!

Oil leak? Turbo drain seal at the block. I have a solution to fix that. We cut a small section out of the turbo oil drain pipe and the put a piece of silicon hose there so that the pipe can move from vibration instead of wrecking the seal. Funny enough thats the saab way.

andy, if that is all it takes, i will bear you many many children.

and here we had the volvo dealership in ottawa saying "you're gonna need a new turbo." i cant remember if they quoted 3 or 5k...but it was some ungodly amount

That is the most common source of an oil leak from a whiteblock motor (aka your motor). I am willing to bet a large amount of money that that is your problem, because from what I remember....your car doesn't smoke so the turbo would still be good.

why do I always accidentally hit the new topic instead of the reply post button?!??!

she doesn't smoke and the turbo still works fine...knock on wood.

(i hate carling motors. oh, I ment to ask you mechanically inclined people...if a ROTOR SEIZED...yes thats right a brake rotor seized...would the driver not notice it? would it not either PULL TO THE LEFT when braking, or notice a funny smell and lack of acceleration when driving?!?!?

dad missed an invoice from carling motors and he gave it to me on the last trip...and it was saying they had to replace a seized rotor...i look at dad, uh, i don't remember the rotor ever seizing...and if it did, i KNOW you would be cussin up a blue streak!)

I dont understand how something that has no moving parts seizes....could be a brake caliper seized and in that case you would notice a pull to that side, accelerated brake wear and a smell when you have finished driving.

Oh well...shops that do shit like that will just get it in the end.

it was probably the floaters or whatever they are called that were seized, you can hammer those out and regrease em...

lame

not usually on those. The piston seizes in the caliper a lot of times.

its probably not the hoses but more thank likely the squirter itself. they take 5 minutes to replace. I can give you a hand if need be, if it is the nozzle like i suspect i can grab you one at valentine as i wanted to go say hey to a couple friends anyways.

no, I have a crack in the resevoir (although, according to Valentine, I don't. Sorry to razz on your place of work andy, but there are a few things Valentine has done to me that makes me go WTF are you smoking?According to Carling motors, whom I lothe and despise, and me, and my dad, and the fact that when I put any fluid in, half of it ends up splashed on the ground if you fill it further than halfway...see what I'm getting at?) Crap sometimes gets into the resevoir and just needs to be cleaned out.
