 Post subject: No Start!

Ok, so I put the dash back together after replacing the blower motor and now I can't start it and the signal lights don't work. I'm pretty sure I have all the grounds reattached.

Anyone have this problem before or are these two issues completely separate?

Bad ignition switch can sometimes cause this. Everything that requires the key to be in the II position stops working, even though the car cranks and stuff still works in the O or I position. Blinkers need the number II position, IIRC, and obviously the ignition and fuel injection computers do too. Also power windows, though I'm not sure about the mirrors. Radio, headlights, brake lights, horn, wipers - all that needs position I, I think.

Sometimes the # II circuit only fails in the crank position, which makes it difficult to start the engine. Bump starting works but turning it on the starter won't, in this case.

It could be non-related issues, too - the hazard switch needs to be plugged in and turned off to allow the blinkers to work, and the no start could come from a grounded or shorted red/white wire (coil tach signal).

Awesome thanks, I will check that stuff tomorrow.

And yes, I'm damn glad I'm back. Lisa told me that its now my car and she is taking the Lex, fine by me, time to find some suspension upgrades and another 16v head :twisted: (well, motor in a couple years)
