so....is there any way of maybe seating them a little bit more firmly than them just kinda sitting on a plate???? or am I just looking for more trouble? ;)

oddly enough, no.

it sits on a tray. only thing keeping it from flying all over the place is the wires. its kinda...odd

....I don't recall seeing anything to tie down my battery either. I will check my s70 tomorrow to confirm.

upon closer inspection, my s70 has a plastic mechanism which holds the battery to the tray. The plastic mechanism is based on the c-clamp principle. I'm not sure whether this is a factory part.
