Hi Guys,
Here's my photo record of the trip out to Osoyoos and back. The 122 made it without a problem (well, the spedo angle drive broke again - but this is sort of expected now) and let me tell you - this is an awesome trip.
Deirdre and I did the drive out Thursday to catch the wine tour on Friday. We got a little rain as we pulled in - but that just made cleaning the bugs off a little easier.

544 from Washington (Steve's car).

There were ES's everywhere - this is "Finger Tight's" car...can't remember his name, but last year he lost the drivers rear wheel off his ES while on the cruise...guess how he got the nickname. No damage to the car (unbelievable, but true). The group made him torque the lug nuts while everyone watched - good spirited fun.

Bert's 1970 122 - the details are different from my car, but much is the same. This is a very, very nice car - I let Deirdre drive my car just to go for a spin. It's awesome.

The panel fit is brilliant.

Random shot from the Tim Horton's parking lot. That 544 is straight.
I didn't take many pictures on the wine tour on Friday - but this one sort of tells the tale. We drove the back roads to Naramata and worked our way home again. There was no organisation of this part as the wineries don't like large groups and there is one around every corner, so we spread out and over took the place. Great wines.

The cruise on Saturday took us from Nighthawk on the US side to Midway in Canada. Great roads - smooth, twisty, fast, no cars. There were two groups and I was at the front of the fast pack for a change. Here's our first stop. The guys wouldn't line the cars up nicely - that's just the way they are.

There were a couple of ES's missing from the tour for a variety of reasons.
We then went on to a ghost town near the Canadian boarder called Molson (fitting) - lots of cool crap to take pictures by and I did a little tuning.

I have no idea why this shot is out of focus (well, my crap camera is one reason). This is Gregg's immaculate ES.

Lunch buy a lake.

My Dad made his maiden voyage in the 122 on this trip. He was holding on for dear life most of the time (both hands) - but didn't complain once. He wants to do it again next year!

End of the cruise had us going down into Osoyoos on HWY 3 - one of the great drives in Canada.

Home today.

More playing around...I've wanted a shot like this for my computer desktop for a while...several tries and we got the shot.

I averaged 34 mpg again (around 8l/100km) and I flogged the hell out of it - honest. Things I learned - angle drives break easily, my car likes 100 octane (boosted Chevron 94) and will not diesel on shut down if running this mixture. I think this is just masking the actual problem which I think is the distributor curve. At no point did I think that the car was going to give up in the corners or on the straights or up the hills. Finally, old guys drive really fast (those "slow" signs don't apply to Volvo owners). Oh, and stuffy animals on your rear parcel shelf identifies you as a non-aggressive driver and everyone seems to brake before the corner regardless of speed or necessity.
