I've got about a dozen radios. Just bring a bunch of AAA batteries 'cause I think some are dead...

Alright thanks guys.
Just going to throw the belly pan back on the car next. Then a quick cleaning and I might be good to head out.

So I guess you'll be in town, working on the 760 for a bit, eh Vik?

I'm thinking he meant he might not yet be legal to drive as of 8AM, as in still drunk. Not that he had his license suspended...

Right, that makes more sense. I was about to go off on Vik for being so irresponsible, to compromize his job over a DUI, etc., but I restrained myself. Thankfully, too!

Speaking of the 760, what's up with it???

haha no way would I drive drunk, that truck makes me too much money to lose that!!!

thanks for the restrain! lol but anyway Dale had it right...went to the stamps game then back home for the flames game, ended up crushing a bottle of wine AFTER all the rye and beer which already had me feeling quite happy...didnt go to bed until like 6am or something

the 760 is going to bert and jacks once my car hauler gets an assigned VIN inspection done, get the rear main seal done on it and then i will put the interior together, maybe a little stereo, and it should be good to drive

ciao

Indeed, thanks for the Lethbridge folks, without whom our cruise would have been just about a drive. Mixed blessings, that: it was a mostly straight line cruise and I'm sure some would have preferred to see some curves, and folks had to leave at mixed times, ruining much of the return cruise packs.

Oh well, I'm sure next cruise our Lethbridge buddies will have running cars and will be joining us. Hopefully that doesn't leave the Calgary (and Edmonton) folks out.

Thanks also for Neil and his big drive. Hope ya made it back okay.

My car doesn't get to be tucked in just yet... got to get a date with a windshield repair place first. :(

Yes, thanks so much to Craig (and Deirdre) and Greg (and Laura) for be such gracious hosts and feeding a bunch of hungry people. My trip down was a somewhat bittersweet thing as I was taking my 242 down to leave with Craig. Sad to see it go as it's been the most reliable and solid 240 series car I have ever owned. I know its in good hands and will not be neglected. My next phase in life will involve driving one of these for a few years...

Not to worry...I still have the 960, a 122 and a 123GT to feed my Volvo addiction...

:)

Yes I made it home at an ok time. I just had to have a nap for a bit on the way. It was a great drive and nice to meet all of the Calgary people. Now I just want to get busy and get my car in a good state for next time I get down there.

It was great to see everyone and excellent to meet a few new people. I was expecting about 5 - 6 but figured a few more may show. It was funny when people just kept coming into the garage while I was digging out the shingles. Good thing the fire warden didn't stop by - I would have got a ticket for sure :o Too many people in a very unsafe garage.

We really enjoyed having everyone over for breakfast and the fact that one car was left behind was a bonus. Now that I'm a member of the 240 club, I'll be relying on all of you for two things. First - how the heck they work (this is my first fuel injected anything that isn't a Diesel) and second to try to restrain my enthusiasm and remind me that this is my winter - bad weather car (i.e. no +T, no big brakes, no spending money like a fool - ya no chance on the last one ).

So far the plans include rust repair (of course) and a new fender, a fresh coat of paint, a little suspension work - that should do the trick. Off to the PYP this week, I hear there is a new 242 in their collection  .
