Was thinking of getting some of this to shoot in the cylinders before firing up the turbo beater, have read a few posts elsewhere extolling it's virtues for re-starting engines that have been sitting for extended periods. Thoughts/comments/alternatives/don't waste your time etc. And anyone know where to find it, CT no longer carries it.

I've looked around since our meeting on Saturday and haven't seen it anywhere...go with the PB blaster then add a shot of motor oil and cycle it over by hand. It will be fine.

Yeah, I had a look at Peavey Mart and nothing. I pulled the plugs and "oiled" it up so it should be ready to go when my new parts shows up. The plugs were all oily which doesn't inspire confidence and were gapped at .038-.040 on average. That and another plug wire like the one you pulled on has me hoping that was the cause of the PO's poor running condition. The oily plugs and the half used bottle of Bardahl I found in the trunk is not so good, will be curious to see the compression test results...

Give it the old Italian Tune-up once you get the new parts in (they're on the way) and blow all the crap out of it. Actually, give it the Seafoam treatment first, then the Italian Tune-up. Then at least you'll know what you're working with...

Yup, the Seafoam is already here, unfortunately the Italian tuneup will have to wait on the OOP... or I could just pull a midnight Raz run. Plates!!! We don't need no stinking plates!!!
