Hey kids,

just trying to replace the front studs on the 940 with longer ones I ordered from the UK, so I can run spacers and the 17" wheels. The late 940s use a 2 piece hub apparently, that's different than every other RWD volvo.

Andy, could you do me a huge favor and have a look through the volvo system (or if someone has the appropriate green book) and let me know how the hell to change the studs?

I can get them loose no problem, but there's some kind of cog on the back of the hub that won't let me get the stud out the back. Do I have to pull the hub? Apparently they aren't serviceable, so I risk having to replace the whole assembly, or I have to buy a new retaining nut and dust cap, or...I don't know, help!

Where did you order your studs from in the UK? I'm trying to find some for the 960... I'm not having much luck!

i'm not even sure they fit though, they're not volvo specific. the guy was pretty helpful though, picked out ones as close to the volvo spec as we could find. and exchange rate is pretty favorable right now too.
