Keeping the ball rolling up here in Edmonton.

I've been working towards setting up a website for our group of Volvo owners. The website is VOEE.ca (standing for Volvo Owners & Enthusiasts of Edmonton). I think it will be a great way to attract other Volvo owners in the city as it combines everything (meet details, pictures, access to an email list) all in one place with an easy to remember web address.

It is now active with a fancy logo to go with it. The logo, which is obviously the Volvo logo, has our website address in bold instead of 'Volvo'. The pictures inside the logo are inspired from the official Edmonton flag; the sun represents Edmonton's above-average amount of sunshine and the wavy ribbon symbolizes the North Saskatchewan River.

I hope this is a good move for the group - it is small at current, but I think this is what we need to 'expand'. In the near future, I hope to get some window stickers made up with the logo/web address.

I just want to make a note that I'm not trying to make any kind of competition against Calgary Volvo Club!! I don't want to form a 'club' as such (not with current numbers!!) and I definately won't be expanding the website to the point of having a forum; in that case I'll refer to this forum (most Volvo guys have their own prefered forum anyway, there's quite a few out there)! In fact, I never thought, but I'll add a link to this forum on the website.

Current provider is Dotable.com. I've had my current reseller account with them for ~3 years now with no major problems (other than script issues - old software and server upgrades never go hand-in-hand, not their fault though).

It's a strange one! The previous owner really didn't care for it to much so it's pretty tatty. The V6 is gone and it now has (at a guess) a B21F/M46 combo. The air con switch on the dash controls the overdrive. Can you confirm whether the headlights and lack of air dam was standard on these? Also, do you know if the turn signal section of the rear lights should be amber or clear (he has one of each)? The owner really likes the car and plans to keep it - I think he said they priced genuine rear quarter panels from Volvo and are still available (~$750!). I must admit, I love the low roof from sitting on the inside.

Yeah, that 242 DL is lovely; it has been resprayed and looks fantastic. Everything just looks right about this car and it has a lovely cream interior. Those big rear headrests are just awesome! It's carb but has been tuned.
