Volvo Owners Edmonton Meet

I hope it's alright posting this on a Calgary Club website! :oops:

Since buying the 242 I've met various Volvo guys from around the Edmonton area and from talking to them got some feedback on whether they'd be interested in a monthly meet so everyone could keep in touch. And everyone was pretty interested in getting something together... :mrgreen:

So I've decided to jump the gun and have a go at setting up a monthly meet for the local guys to see how it pans out. (What can I say, I miss organizing the Irish Volvo Meets!!) The details are as follows;

Volvo Owners Edmonton Meet (Calgary guys most welcome if you really want the drive!)

Monday 31st August (last Monday of every month)

Ikea - South Edmonton Common (SW section of parking lot)

General chit-chat meeting with food and drink in the main restaurant.

Bring your Volvo and yourself!

Should someone post on Turbobricks under Events?- you never know what lurkers are out there...
Four Star on Calgary trail & ~74ave (east/left side) might be a place to let know, too.

I guess TurboBricks is worth a try - I can fire up a topic anyway.

Might see if I can get over to Four Star at some point, although there's only the weekend to go now. I've got a count of 6/7 Volvos confirmed.

It was great to meet a few enthusiastic locals (and their cars!!) and hopefully we've set a trend for many months to come. :mrgreen:

It drives nice, even my new GF (who got referred to as wife by someone, still sorta getting used to that one...

) said so... but it really hasn't ever been off the road, and was bult in 1982 from a rolled shell- So, understand that it needs several hundred hours of metal work...per corner...
