 Post subject: Double Din head unit?

does anyone know if a double din head unit for a car stereo will fit in to my 87 740? ...easily?

It shouldn't. There isn't enough depth, from my memory. You'll whap the fusebox. Certainly not on the 780 front end, where the stereo faceplate is tilted up to match the slant of the console, but I'm thinking on the 740 stuff there's too much stagger top to bottom.

Location: Didn't learn, now renovating bathroom #2, and you think cars are expensive!!!
Not sure, the 740 has the head unit and then either a cubby hole or the equalizer below, depth would be my concern

the head unit im looking at is the same length that i have in there now so if that is the same length as the the cubby then it should fit right?

for what its worth I have a 7 inch flip out dvd screen above another cd deck in my 7 series, it'll fit, just gotta make it fit
