I actually feel kind of stupid even posting this but as the title says we are now up to 6 bricks.

The latest addition is a 1990 240 DL with an m47 and no options other than cruise that holds speed like a drunken sailor. The odo reads 173ish but is obviously higher as surprise, surprise it works intermittently. The shocks were shot quite some time ago and it needs front end work as well. It has a rebuilt title but the seller had all of the paper/photos on the rebuild and it looks pretty good. The seats need rebuilding but the interior is in pretty good condition otherwise, the exterior needs a good polishing but is rust and dent free other than a couple tiny spots in the wheel wells.

When we looked at the car I thought it looked pretty clean but was put off by the obviously higher km's and the rebuilt title. When compared to the Valdez for $600 the price was alright and I would guess the km's are about the same around 250-300K. After the test drive I was non-committal and ready to leave it but Lisa wanted to buy it so there you have it. It needs shocks, motor mounts and a tie-rod right away. And I need to swap out the tails to pass the insurance inspection.

The P.O. named it Ruby (it's maroon over grey/black) duh! I thought this sounded lame but Lisa liked it. In an inspired bit of irony I came up with a new name that she HATES... Jack! I love it, she doesn't.

Does anyone have a big face tach and a small clock they want to sell? Not sure what Volvo was thinking when they put that tiny tach up in the dash and a ginormous clock in the cluster??

I'm sure we can work out a trade...

Actually, Jim, you should put that small tach / big clock combo on eBay and see what you get for it. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Meh...throw away the big clock. The small tach will likely get you what a big tach/small clock combo will cost you. I'm sure if I dig hard enough I might be able to find a large tach to go with one of the 6 or 8 small clocks I have...

6 bricks :prayer: there must be a 12 step program somewhere.

Sure... although I can't think of what I have that you would want???

Will look at eBay in the future although didn't see much last night.

Let me know what you have Dale, I noticed a complete set on TB but would rather buy local.

I know!!! This is starting to sound like the basis for another reality TV show, or at the very least the beginning of the Coaldale Volvo Club. It is some small consolation that the 6 includes the parts car, so eventually it will ONLY be 5...

I've got a set of front struts and a GT rear sway bar for the asking. The struts are from my 242 and come installed in the strut tubes with the front hubs etc installed.

Got the new circuit boards installed in the tail lights and still no running/brake lights on the PS, but I do have reverse and signals. The drivers side is OK although I have no brake or fog lights which is probably the respective switches which I will check later. I pulled out my meter (duh, should have done that first, although the old boards were rough) and I have power to the signal/reverse but no others so I know the bulbs/sockets/board are not the problem.

Any ideas on where to start tracing, I am thinking that because I have lights on the DS that the fuses are Ok so wondering if there are any known faults or trouble spots to home in on. What's puzzling is I had lights on the PS before I swapped the broken tails on both sides and now have a new circuit board on the PS??

three words for you... Bulb Integrity Relay!! this happened to me last year and the moment i switched out the bulb integrity relay i had power again. funny thing is everything else worked, signal lights reverse lights etc, just no brake lights.

http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-200/Lightin ... 9-263-375/

dont buy it from IPD though its way over priced. head on down to PNP and grab one there reasonably cheap compared to IPD. if you cant find one down in lethbridge im sure one of u could find one here for you.

Thanks Doug, like a dummy I tried to make it harder than it needed to be. I ASSumed the tails were on a common fuse which of course they aren't. Changed the blown fuse and voila PS brake/tail lights. Still have no rear fogs but I can live with that for the time being. Thanks for the tip on the integrity relay, will keep that filed for future reference.
