You sure it's a 740?? The 740 only came with the 16v in 89 and 90, if it's a 92 it's a 940 not a 740. How much??

cool find- we're always interested...depending on price

If it's a wagon, you should have no trouble finding a home. sedan...tough!

I've always had an eye out for a late 4cyl esprit myself...

That's pretty interesting - one of the guys at Volvo of Edmonton just emailed me today looking for some interest in this '90 740 GLE with only 32k KMs a guy had just called him about... I guess the son was pretty quick to sell?

Is the car local from Medicine Hat?

I'm looking forward to the pictures of this, and the price tag you have on it. It would be sweet to have a mint 740, 'as good as new', but I bet it would need a bit of work to be a reliable daily driver. There's loads of low mileage, one owner Volvos in the UK and although you can pick them up for pretty cheap, the buyers end up putting a lot more money than they intended into them! :(

Next meet at southland VW to check out a near mint 740 and some british turbo 4 banger?

Only half serious as I won't have much time before I head off on vacation...I would enjoy a chat with you about Lotus in general Mark, help decide if an Esprit is the right car for me or not. I'm not actively in the market at the moment- wedding planning is the priority for the next year anyway.

I doubt everyone wants to make the 3-hour drive...

I caught the ad on Kijiji this morning... No disrespect intended but it is just a Volvo 740 series, even if it's only got 32k on it. Going to take a pretty determined buyer to shell out that much cash for a 20 year-old car.

Looks nice! :D I like the snow cap! Are those holes on the front bumper (in front of grille) from spot/fog lamps?

Good luck Mark, and I mean that. People are willing to pay whatever they think the car is worth- and someone may be willing to pay close to that! We've seen late 240 wagons go for that kind of price (and higher), 740 sedans are not nearly as desirable. Certainly it's a nice car, especially considering it was what, $30k in 1990, and it's pretty much in new condition. I bet someone picks it up for $5-6k eventually...I doubt the book is more than $2500.

Just checked gold book- $32k new, $1500 retail, though it won't adjust for low mileage on a car that old!

One thing I learned selling cars, people will pay alot more AND alot less than you would expect, you just never know!
