I cant believe I am going to have to do the Heater core AGAIN !!(did it 4 years ago,was one of the reasons the PO gave up on the car) as we all know,it's a real pita in Volvo's.Sprung a leak at last weeks Winter autocross,fogged all my windows,(at least that's the excuse I am using for my poor performance) After doing some reading,there is a "correct" way and a "butchers"way,I did it the correct way last time.......anyone have info,link with pics,on the other way this time??

I know there is a shortcut to replacing the fan. Not sure about the core. There are others much more likely to know for sure and I'm sure they'll chime in...

I have no idea how to do either job but here's a link to the site whose instructions I will follow when my day arrives... :( FWIW I have only ever read of the standard vs the "Holesaw" method for blower motor repair not the heater core?

I have a NIB fan, switch and resistor for sale if you want those replaced as well.

Well I got the heater core out,wasnt that bad.....really,didnt take the dash out,just glovebox and right side of blower cover.Made a few cuts to the side of the heater box,just enough to slide the core out the side,access to the top hoses thru the gauge hole and speaker grill on dash.Damn thing is leaking at the top seam (core to tank),wouldnt you know there isnt one available locally,and not paying the dealer $537 for one either. I guess I'll have a go at repairing the old one,now that I know it comes out not that bad. Yeah,I replaced the blower motor/resistor the last time this was done, thanks anyways.
